Find 87

Find 87 is a homebrew game for the Super Nintendo with one simple goal: find the number 87 hidden among a grid of numbers before the clock hits zero.

It sounds easy. It isn’t. The timer keeps shrinking, the grids keep growing, and your eyes will be your worst enemy.

🎮 Game Modes

Easy Mode (99 levels): Every number on the screen matches the current level (all 03s on level 3, all 42s on level 42…) except for a single 87. Spot the odd one out!

Hard Mode (10 levels): A 10×10 grid filled with every number from 00 to 99 in random order, each appearing only once. Somewhere in that sea of digits is the 87.

N x N Mode (10 levels): The grid grows with you. Level 1 is a single giant number, level 2 is a 2×2 grid, level 3 is 3×3… all the way to a full 10×10 on level 10. The numbers scale down as the grid grows, always filling the screen, thanks to the SNES’s famous Mode 7.

⏱️ How to Play

• Move the cursor around the grid with the D-Pad.
• Press A (or B) on the number you think is 87.
• Pick the 87 to clear the level and move on.
• Pick a wrong number and you lose 2 seconds.
• Every level starts with 30 seconds, and the time gets shorter as you go:
  • Easy: down to 11 seconds on level 99
  • Hard and N x N: down to 12 seconds on level 10
• Run out of time and it’s game over!

When paused, the grid is hidden, so no cheating!

💾 How to Run

Find 87 is a real SNES ROM (.smc, LoROM, NTSC). It runs on:

• Emulators such as Snes9x, bsnes, Mesen and RetroArch
• Real hardware through flash carts such as SD2SNES / FXPak and Everdrive

Just download the file and open it in your emulator of choice.
