FIO

FIO is a homebrew game for the Super Nintendo. You are a thread of light racing through a circuit board: run across five side-scrolling stages and bring power back to the whole board.

The board has gone haywire. Bugs crawl over the traces, sparks float in the air and the components have turned against you. Run, jump and stomp your way to the CPU.

🧩 How to Play

• Reach the connector at the end of each stage.
• Jump on enemies to defeat them. Avoid the sparks and the high voltage spikes.
• You have 3 energy per life. Falling into a pit costs a whole life.
• Touch the LEDs to light checkpoints.
• Collect bits: 30 in every stage, and every 100 bits give you an extra life.
• Every stage hides a megabit. Can you find all 5?
• A results screen after every stage counts your bits. Get them all for a PERFECT!
• Bosses can only be hit from above, while they are weak. Learn their patterns!

💾 How to Run

Download Fio_v1.smc (LoROM, NTSC, 256 KB) and open it in any SNES emulator. Tested on Snes9x and bsnes (also through RetroArch).
